Hi! Welcome to American Heritage German Shepherd Dogs (AHGSD). We are a small hobby kennel that exclusively breeds German Shepherd Dogs (GSD), both Oversized and Standard. We strive to have great homes for our puppies before the litter is born; therefore, we do not breed to have puppies on the ground at all times, but breed to provide each person with a puppy that is best suited to their desires.

We breed for the Old Style German Shepherds, with straighter backs, walking solid on all four pads. Therefore, one of our primary breeding goals is to produce a dog with little to no angulation in the rear hips unlike conformation show dogs. We are proud to bring the Old Fashioned GSD back into your life.

Our dogs ARE NOT your average size dogs. Most of our pups will grow to be 27" and taller, and their weights are usually 90+ pounds for a female and up to 130+ pounds for the males.

This is much larger than the standard German Shepherd Dog which will average 22-24" tall for females and 24-25" tall for the males with weights ranging from 65 to 85 pounds and exhibiting sloped hips.

All the dogs in our program are OFA (Orthopedic Foundation of America) certified with "Good" or "Excellent" hips. We are very responsible breeders and love each and every dog that we own and produce through our program. Please carefully research before you purchase your new baby. Many people claim to have their dogs registered and OFA certified, so please ask for proof. Any responsible breeder should be willing to provide you with this information. We will provide you with pedigrees and certificates from OFA when you ask

We are so attached to our dogs, we even recommend and have the ability to microchip all of our puppies (at your request) before they leave for their new homes. This aids in recovering a lost pet when taken to a veterinarian clinic or animal shelter.

Understand that if you choose to purchase a puppy from AHGSD, you are not buying a backyard or kennel dog, rather, you are adding a new member to your family. We ask that you love them for life, and we know you'll appreciate how much love you will get in return.

Our prices depend on the parents and if we sell Limited or Unlimited on our puppies. We do not sell to many breeders; however, we do work with other reputable breeders to continue our bloodlines for strong, healthy and loyal dogs. If we do not have the puppy or dog you are looking for, we might be able to recommend someone that may. Just ask.
